The inaugural Piha Invitational hit our shores in 2021 thanks to the vision of the then Piha Head Coach Bjorn Battaerd. After seeing the potential that Piha Beach offers, and knowing the capabilities of the Piha Squad and other New Zealand Surf Life Saving athletes, it was clear that there was an opportunity to showcase the talent that trains on our shores.
